Riffing off this meme I enjoy. Doing the thing that you find the most challenging, or most unthinkeable, to unexpected results.
The stranger did that and look where it got him.
Then you have the Anand Gidirahas school of thought which I think was one of the first to diagnose the problem of getting stuck in a never-ending loop of applying solutions that caused problems in the first place, but has since turned himself into a bit of a caricature. Doing the funniest thing imaginable is therefore a way of breaking out of the cycle and changing the playing field, in an infinite games style.
In theory this is all very nice but for the expectations of sobriety and trustworthyness which would quickly discredit a person always seeking the funniest/most chaotic course of action... so use it sparingly.
